Ummm... ya, I can try to walk you through it. I assume you have the F4 IH magneto? The impulse coupling must come off to get the armature out. It is keyed on a tapered shaft. take the nut off and use a puller. Sometimes a little heat helps. Take the screws out of the clip on top and gently remove the magnet. put the magnet on a piece of steel as a keeper while you are working. everything else is pretty self explanitory.

i was just looking at my F4 magneto tonight (it's the one i pulled out of the F-14 i'm working on). does the magnet just pull off once the top clip is removed? my magneto looks to be in pretty good shape, but the magnet seemed like something else was holding it on. also, how magnetic should it be while still in the magneto? a metal screwdriver kind of sticks to it, but just barely. the tractor hasn't been ran in many years, but the mag and engine were covered.

is there an IH manual that covers the F4 rebuild procedure?

thanks,

andy b.

My F-14 has the F4 Magneto. Rice Eqp. sells a copied manual for $9.95. I haven"t bought one yet because I have just started working on my Mag. Have you had any luck? John
