Anyone have any experience with the E&K sleeve puller? Does it seem to be heavy enough? How is the pricing? Emailed the guy but am curious.

Brian, The neighbor and I made our own sleeve puller. Our discs ranged in thicknesses from about 1/4 inch all the way up to 7/8 if an inch thick. I realize thats big but this puller has evolved as different projects have come into the shop over the years. IMO it wouldnt be bad to maybe error on the heavy side because you never know what is in store with these old tractors.

Good luck

The one I bought was in Red Power Magazine maybe the EK you are talking about. Didn't last long, the rod wasn't big enough, the disc all bent, and the bearing on top fell apart. Just isn't heavy-duty enough.

I'd say the shaft should be 1 inch and the pulling disks at least 1/4 inch thick. On 2nd thought not sure 1/4 is enough, will have to look at mine.

The pulling disks on my sleeve puller are roughly between 3/4 and an inch thick. They have a "step" in them that when used on stock sleeves, will automatically center the disc in the sleeve. They also are machined flat on opposing sides allowing them to be slid down the sleeve without having to remove them from the puller each time. I’m not sure what brand it is however, as my uncle bought it back in the late 1940’s.

The old ones are always the best. I'd pay double or triple for one you are talking about over a new one in a magazine any day. They just don't build them like they used to.
