So what is wrong with you generator? New brushes and bearings should be available at most any auto supply store. If the problem is with the armature or fields then you probably need to find a complete replacement unit. Most of the NAPA stores I am familiar with have testing equipment that will determine where the problem is, and usually there is no cost if you buy the parts from them.

I don't know of anybody selling a rebuild kit. I took mine into an electrical repair shop. They were able to fix it and test it. Unles you have an overwhelming desire to repair it yourself it may be just about as cheap to have it professionally rebuilt. With them testing it you know that everything is working ok. Just my $0.02 worth.

I'll go with what Randy says. If you find anything wrong inside other than just that which can be replaced, you'll end up taking it to a pro anyway. Most shops are reasonably priced. My most unfavorite instructions when doing repairs is, "If excessive wear is present see dealer for correct parts" In a 50-70 year old tractor what is excessive wear? My nickel Dick Davis
