I was fortunate to purchace a 450 at consignment with a stuck engine and 4 rotten tires for what I believe to be salvage price. The engine now will move but I have bad or stuck valves yet as no compression in 2 cyl. Still digging into that problem.. This tractor has what looks to be origional swinging drawbar and no evidence of rear lift. It is equipped with 3 spool hydrolics so I plan to add 3pt. Is cheep and easy possible or do I start from scratch and hit the steel supplier? I love the old iron of any color but am new to restoration or rebuild for use.

Thanks for the info and comments. I thought a direct attachment of 3pt would be best rather than adding fast hitch first then converting. Not sure I want to end up with 1/2 my investment in the hitch either. Will prob. get running and rolling first then see. I found a bone yard close and intend to check out the inventory and deals there. Can hardly wait to hear the ol boy bark, then check out the extras like TA and Pto. Later!!

You may be able to find a fast hitch, and put a three point conversion in it. The fast hitch, if in good condition, will be stronger than even the Saginaw because of the way it mounts on the tractor. Try Mike at Steel Wheel Ranch - 785-548-7437. He advertises them and might have one for a 450.

There are after market 3-points. A lot of people swear by Saginaw. It's not the way I'd do it, but prudence would say get everything else fixed first. Be a shame to spend 750 on a hitch and then find out the engine was irreparable. Me, I'd likely order the hitch (and tires) so I'd be committed. Or should be.
