I have an IH super M hydraulic pump on a M. This morning I was using the loader to move some snow and blew the gasket between the hydraulic pump and the junction block to the lines. It was cold, about 9 degrees. Has anyone had this problem before and should I have let the tractor warm up more. I use hytran in the system.

I MAY BE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING YOUR MD PUMP BECAUSE THE GEARS ARE JUNK IN MINE.

If I am on the right wave length I believe it is supposed to be 2 o-rings and not a gasket.

different question, same train of thought in reply to Nebraska Cowman, 01-23-2005 11:06:49
Howard, imagine finding you on here. I was just coming up from the shop to talk to you. Yes, there are two o-rings between the two pieces. Now for my question: I bought a pump a while back and it was supposed to fit on an M. Well guess what. It don't. It has these numbers on it-----397048 and then R9----- kinda looks like an IHC part number but I don't know. The bolt pattern is as follows. The top holes are 3 7/16 from center to center. The bottoms are 1 5/8 center to center. Top to bottom they are 4 5/8 center to center.

The old piece between the timing cover and the distributer has this number on it -----6733 DA----- -This piece measures 3 1/8 center to center for the top holes, 2 5/8 across the bottom, and 5 1/8 from top to bottom. Any help you'all could give would be appreciated. Also, the gear on the "live pump" is somewhat smaller than the original one. Really don't know what I have and what it fits, but I don't think it can be hammered enough to fit the M. Thanks, Harley

Forgot to tell you, the M is a 1941 model if that makes any difference.
