Well, dug it out, untarped it, and got it started at 12 degrees F this morning, my personal record so far. Took one battery swap-out and about 1/8 of a can of starting fluid, but it caught and ran! Just wish I had chains, worn filled tires are not enuf on ice and polished snow. I will try once again to link to a hosted photo I took of this old machine taking a well-earned break today here in central New Hampshire.

I have another technical question which I will post separately. Thanks, gentlemen. Stay warm!

Dave, I have a 240U with a Wagner loader that I bought this summer. Has big iron weights on the rear and also fluid in the tires. Took it out the first snow we had here in WI and it had as much grip as a fish on ice. Put on a set of chains that were laying around and that was better but not by much. Ran into a guy 2 weeks ago who had a set of ARPS half tracks that he took off a Ford 8N. Bought them for $50. Unfortunately I didn't have time to get them installed before we got another 11" Friday night. Have fun and stay warm

Hey there 240 brother -- I don't want to HEAR that stuff! I am living in hope that one day when I hit the lottery the Easter Bunny's gonna bring me two new filled tires and some serious cross-hatched chains that FIT. My drive tires are mismatched (one's turf, the other half-worn construction type) and though filled (again, one's more filled than the other) if I get an inch or two off level I am spinning and getting stuck like crazy. I am using these too small chains that sold with it like traction mats and it's the only thing getting me unstuck so far. What are those half tracks you are talking about? Maybe if you get some good weather in June you can find enuf time to mess with 'em and figure out how they mount... Good luck!

David, I think your problem is right here (in brackets)
/ [David's%20Stuff] /dscn0518.jpg always use lower case and ditch the odd characters, ' is a no no I think an underscore _ is a good one to use for clarity.
