You will get better light with 12 volts, so I recommend you change the bulbs or put on new halogen lights.

Changing the bulbs is the best way to go, as long as you don"t mind paying 60 - 70 dollars a pair for the origonal type sealed beams. You can buy sealed beams from any auto parts store but they won"t be like the origonals. They will have to be "rigged" to hook up the wires. At 5 - 6 dollars, I"d at least try the resistor. You"ll have to have a resistor on power lead to coil, so just get one with 4 plugs(2 circuits) such as NAPA/Echlin # ICR 24. Much depends on purpose of your tractor -show or actual use. Maybe someone else will have a better idea. Good Luck!!

Convert everything over to 12V,you'll be glad you did.Bring it into the 20th century (anyway),and you will find that replacement parts are more available and cheaper too! (bulbs,coil...etc).
