Mornin' Ian, Way back in '75 or so, I rented an irrigated farm from a fella and this particular piece of ground irrigated from an 8" irrigation well. The place sets about as far out in the boonies as a guy can get and the well had no power source on it, so I bullet-proofed a Chevy 350 engine, planted it on that well and rigged it to run on propane with a "dripper" oil injection system. I installed Murphy kill switches on the thing, plumbed the ground water to cool the engine and in the process, beefed up that engine's oil pump just exactly like you are wanting to do with your lift-all pump. That particular pressure spring is roughly 3/8" in diameter x 1" long and that little extra 3/16" thick washer bumped the pressure right at 10 lbs. The landowner told me two years ago, that the old engine is still running and pumping water every summer, so that makes about 30 years now, if my math is correct. Allan
