Hey You Guys,

Went by the local red shop today and checked on my largest child.

Repairs are done, and paint is just about all entirely peeled off to bare metal. All dents filled and one or two little cracks to weld yet on one fender and then it appears it is almost ready for primer.

It seems like if these guys don't slow down a little bit, I'm gonna have to buy a comfort cover to get the silly thing idled up over ranchman’s mountain, on out across buzzard sands, then on in here to poverty hill. That's a darned long ride in January.

Wonder if the wife would do it for me? She really should have a little tractor time too, ya know. I could follow her with the old pickup, the dog and a thermos of coffee. :>)

Hey Allan- glad to hear she's almost done and also that you've apparantly about got that flu bug whipped! I was in your neck of the woods Sunday and Scot drove me past the red shop's lot to show me a du-all loader(that wasn't there anymore). I was thinking I should go peek in the window at your tractor but Scot was in a hurry as usual. Darn nice tractor-ridin' weather the past couple days. Wish we'd get our cold and snow out of the way now and save these nice days till a month or two later when the new calves are droppin'.

Don't you guys let Allen fool you! It was probably over 60 degrees where he is at today, but I will have to admit the forecast is for cooler (not colder) temps coming. But I bet in the next week or so he will be able to find a decent enough day to enjoy the drive home on his new rig!

Sorry Allen, I just couldn't resist...

Mornin' Captn',

I wonder if this is gonna be one of those years that the tractors can git to the fields in February.

This is one open winter! I'm seriously considering getting out the garden hoses and spongin' off the vehicles around here. Can't remember it in the mid 60s in January like this.

'Taint complainin', but I feel another dry year comin' on. :>(

Possibly, but I always figure if we have to have a drought, it might as well be between November and February. It can rain 6 inches more in March and April and make up for a lot of snow, except maybe for runoff filling stock dams. We can still get a lot of winter yet.

Enjoy the long, cold tractor rides while they last. Next winter, you'll be riding horses when it's cold! David

Gee whiz Allan, just suck it up and go for it. If you are getting weather like we are getting here the ride would almost be fun.

Allen, It's great to hear about your big girl doing so well.
I've always thought of you as a pretty nice guy.
But you do have a mean streak, don't ya?:-)

Hmmmm,

Yes, see what you mean. I really should be more thoughtful.

So, I'm going to let her write one of these jaw-breaker checks so that she feels like she is really a part of the fun and games. :>)
