Does anyone know the proper rear wheel spacing for a H with a H-86 plow? Thanks, Jeff

The wheel spacing for the H-90 plow which is the single furrow mounted plow is :

Plow Size 14" Wheel Tread 64" Plow Size 16" Wheel Tread 68" Plow Size 18" Wheel Tread 72" These settings should suit the H-86 as well.

With 14's then, the tread is set to minimum width with the wheels dished out.

CNKS - Yes, that is correct. I posted photos of my H-190 plow, which is a later version of the H-90, in the Tractor Photos Galleries last year if you want to see the set up.

While one may adjust the drawbar off center a little, it is not the best thing to do.
Keep your line of draft straight !

I only meant about one bolt hole. On the H/M 150 semi-mounted I used, the "drawbar" for the plow was bolted to the clutch housing. As the disks became worn, you could slide the tongue to the right (towards the furrow) so that the disk lined up properly. We did that until we purchased new disks -- they wore quite rapidly and weren't good for more than a couple of seasons. Always best to pull from the middle.

pretty darn narrow, with a two bottom 14 inch plow you want about 20 inches from center of tractor to the inside of the tire; a 3 bottom plow about 25 inches

I don't know that there is a number -- With the wheels dished out, the hub on the furrow wheel will need to be within an inch or so of the axle housing, when pulling from the center of the drawbar. This is what I remember from pulling a semi-mounted disk plow, may differ some with a moldboard, depending on where the lead moldboard tracks. Your choice whether or not you adjust the other one to the same width. You can also adjust the swinging part of your drawbar slightly off center, as long as it pulls straight.
