Here's a web site for a martin house almost identical to the one I built 40 years ago. The only difference is on mine was the roof used slats
that overlap each other. Hal
This is out in your area of the country.

I'm going to try that this Spring. I still have
a martin house that we purchased years ago. It's
a lot easier to handle compared to the wooden house that we made. It took 4 men and a boy to get that wooden house up. After I got martins I didn't put it up so high. When you're young and dumb and don't know any difference, I could've built that house so any water would've drained out. I should've drilled holes below the entrance
holes to allow any water to drain. If you want to build a martin house you can have the plans.

The early martins usually arrive here in MD in late March or early April. In 1968 we had sold the house in Feb and we didn't settle until April and those martins had arrived and were sitting on the martin house that was on a picnic table that we had. My neighbor quickly put up a house and those martins moved in.

My late dad was from western IN near the IL border. The town was called Waveland.
It's nice and warm here today up near 50 degrees. You can soon plow garden with that Super C. I liked the fast hitch since you didn't need to get off the tractor. When I made the last pass across the garden one of the hydraulic hose bursted when raising the plow. I made up 2 new hoses at work. Keep a look out for those martins. Hal
