A little OT - IHC M1 Rifles

I know this is a little off topic but given the interests of this board perhaps this group will be interested in this. I have been away from the board for a while but one of my additional hobbies is collecting M1 Garand rifles.

Many of you probably were aware that IHC was one of four manufacturers of the Garand, along with Springfield Armory, Winchester, and Harrington & Richardson.

What you might not know is that the IHCs are highly sought by collectors due to a number of factors that include a relatively small production run and some very interesting and rare varients.

In addition to the collector interest in the IHC Garands, high power target shooters seek IHC Garands due to tight manufacturing tolerances and high quality barrels.

So...if you ever run across someone selling an IHC Garand in good shape and the price is under $700...GRAB IT! And if you happen to be one of the lucky few who have one of these gems, I'd love to hear about it!

IHC M1's are sweet.I think they made them close to the Korean war.Like to get one.I have a M1 Springfield (1943).Saginaw, Carbine M1.(1943)

That's my understanding also, I think being made during the less chaotic Korean War led to them being built with a little more craftsmanship then the WW2 rifles. I have Springfield that came with a "new" VAR barrel, looked like it had been rebuilt then stored. The CMP demands (and gets) a premium on the IHC rifles.

I have never seen one but i to anjoy long range shooting , myself i would love to have a M 14A1 as i did a bunch of long shots with one just wish i never sold my 220 swift .

I don't own a Garand, wish I did. I do have a 30 cal carbine that was made by Underwood. There were more manufactures pumping out the Carbine than the Garand. The 30 Carbine I always looked for, was the ones made by Rockola Jukebox. I never found one, and now they are out of my price range.
