There are few things I like BETTER than a public forum to air my views, that is why I took on my part-time teaching gig with the college a few years back. It wasn't always that way, though, so I'll try to help you out... "If you had never considered collecting toy tractors, what would get your attention?" Very accurate, detailed, scale models of actual models (particularly if I own the real thing) with at least a few implements available. "In your experience, how do collections appreciate in value?" In my experience, they don't. Almost everything collectible these days is mass produced. The old stuff is usually priced high already. A few items may go up but most won't and you spend so much time and money collecting that it is truly a misconception that you are getting ahead. Collect because you love it, not for money. "What is your favorite toy tractor manufacturer~ why?" Don't have one, but have seen some Franklin Mint stuff that is pretty nice. That would be as close as I come. Good luck with your higher education! DMH
