M Farmall Throttle lever

I have a 1949 M Farmall tractor. The throttle lever is on the top of the steering column as opposed to being on the side like most M's. Any reply would be helpful if the top mount throttle lever was an update or a factory original. thanks.

Im thinking you have a cotton picker M.The throttle handle,tyhe part you acually move sits straight up on the picker set up.Maybe what you have hasnt been changed to the normal sidewyas type.

Could you point us to a picture of this "on the side" throttle arrangement? Maybe we're thinking of two completely different things here.

My Super M is on top, Super C on side. You can pick up a new MW style for on top of the steering shaft at TSC.

Is it an M diesel? I guess you could say the throttle on them is kinda on the side.

Factory original, never seen an H or M with the throttle you describe, only the A,B,C,etc series.

All the M's I've seen, throttle was on top. Same as the H.

Throttles on top on H's. Don't know if this will help or not.
