Scott,

Yes, a 140 Fast hitch will fit on the Super A. I have one that I rebuilt and put on a Super A. It came off of a 140. I echo the sentiments about making sure you get all the parts. I have the page in the parts book I could scan and send you or fax if you want. (Including the parts you'll need not shown in the fast hitch page). As mentioned below the inner rock shaft on the left side has a large loop on the bottom that has a hole for the Spring lift assembly. Try to get that part in the deal, If not you'll have to find one for the assist spring rod to attach too. (I did the same thing on a CUB, but welded the link on the rock shaft, but won't be possible on the Super A as the rock shaft is cast) Also the one in the EBay photos you linked to, looks as as if the Lift rod part at the rear where the large buffer spring is has some damage...the rod is different than the Super A as well. ALso there are differences in the bail hitch, both should work, you might have to drill a two holes in the floor plate to attach the bail bracket. I can give you photos if you think it will help. As far as price I wouldn't think the thing would bring more than $ 200.00 in that condition, especially if you have to pay shipping

Also, I looked at the photos again, It's missing the "drawbar" tha small shoe tha fits on the bottom/back of the hitch that has a pin which allows a drawbar pull, another thing missing is the catch/latch that holds the fast hitch male part in the hitch female part, it has s hook to rais it up and is held with two flat springs and a bolt. The flat springs are available, but you might be hard pressed to find the drawbar and the latch at a salvage yard without paying outrageous prices for them.... (I've not seen them available reproduction, but I could be mistaken). gain I can sen you photos of mine, and or my parts book info...

Thanks Sharkey, I sure would like to have those diagrams you mentioned. Hugh has been helping me out on this as well. I talked to them today and they said that the bars that hook up on the hyd unit ARE NOT INCLUDED so I don tknow what I will do here, especially since you say there are missing pieces. I am pretty handy with steel and fabricating, forgeing, machining, etc. If I can get it cheap, I can probably make the rest. If you dont mind, send me the pictures you have via email, if for nothing else I sure could use them for future reference.

Thanks to both you and Hugh,

Scott: Not sure what they mean by the "bars that hook up on hydraulic unit"? If they are talking the rear rockshaft that fits between fenders, the rest of the hitch is worth $25. At least that is what I paid. Without the rockshaft the rest is little more than scrap metal.

Someone should tell these guys, if converting it to 3 point is so valuable, then the 3 point kit should have it's own rockshaft. On that little tractor 1 point fast hitch is worth 100 time what 3 point is. Any of the 3 point I've seen for these are little more than scrap metal.

Ya, I am beginning to agree. If you cant find trailing implements, what do you do? If you go to 3 point you have to change the tractor around, if you go to fast hitch , you have to find all the parts and the implements. Its quite a quandryto outfit an older machine. I called them and they first said the lift link, guide w/helper spring and draft link wasnt included. Then they emailed me and said it was. I think I will pass on this one and wait until I can see what I am getting for the money and getting into.

Scott: It's no wonder the last guy backed out. He probably bid $200. and when he got there discovered he was getting nothing more than bottom half of hitch. I've never even registered to bid at e bay, home of the hitchless or drawbarless tractors. It's not just them either, removing standard equipment from a tractor, and selling tractor and items at different times. Best thing the public can do with those guys is hit em right in the pocket book.

The big item here is not what you pay right now, but rather how much you spend down the road finding the rest of it. I have a lot of one point equipment and acessaries, and if I counted every mile I drove, every part I chased down only discover it was something else, I could say I have $100,000. invested.

Scott: You will encounter one little problem. The rockshaft on your touch control that lifts the fast hitch will not have the provission on back of rockshaft for the spring assist. I know, there is a small loop on there but the spring assist will require 1/2" hole. I have operated these hitches without the spring assist. It will lift more with.

You may be able to get the proper rockshaft at a used tractor parts supply. You might even question where the one is that went with hitch.
I will warn you also before you start bidding too high, "MAKE SURE HITCH IS ALL THERE". Get yourself hold of a parts book, and check it out piece by piece.

I bought a one point hitch 10 years ago, I knew some of it was missing. Thought I'll see those sometime, never have, least not at a reasonable price. Most common part missing is the rear rockshaft and lift rod going to it. Folks convert them to 3 point with a worksaver.

Hugh, assuming its is complete and decent, what do you think a fair price is for it?

Thanks for your help,

Thanks Hugh, I will proceed slowly and study carefully before taking the plunge. I am going to go get that drag disk this weekend.
