Bought this old seat for my H from one of Howard's ebay deals. Gave her the once over down to metal and peeled 3 separate coats of paint off the thing.

I'm sure this old tractor will go faster now! :>)

I just "rebuilt" my seat, is identical to yours. I don"t know if I was just lucky, but the pivot bushings went in slicker "n snot.
Two questions....did you replace your coil spring or just paint it...not sure if I should replace mine...it is in real nice shape, not rusted, etc.
#2--what were your thoughts on painting the shock? I bought that same shock from Mike @ SWR, and it to me, it was just too shiny to scuff up and repaint....

I don't know what the history is on this old tractor other than it was restored down in the middle of Nebraska about 10 years ago.

The rub was it just has the wrong seat frame on it. It does not fit the transmission cover right, and the seat pan will not bolt up to the frame right; so, I think it is off of an older tractor or something. Been drivin' me crazy just 'cause it is not 'correct'.

I took the spring down to metal and just repainted it; left the shock just as I got it from Mike; gives it a nice 'contrast'. :>)

You're right. I'm gonna be sorry I went to all this trouble when I get the tractor in the shop this morning to mount the thing.

It just ain't a gonna match, and I'll wish I had used the right color. Groan. :>(

How would an old H look with 2150? :>)

Yepper, gotta run the old tractor in this morning and get it all mounted and adjusted.

Never could stand that seat with the shock behind the sping; just wasn't right, to my eye and the bushings are all wobbled out. :>(

He really worked me over on this one. $53, I think. :>)

Bushings and the shock was probably another $40 or $50, 'can't remember for sure.

Those darned bushings are a stinker to get in there where they belong. :>(

Get that tube on the upper seat arm as clean as you can on the inside, then take some cup grease and lube the inside as well. Put the cup grease on the outside of the long rubber bushing too and it will push all the way in, if you turn it as you go.

Then, on the little side bushings, I used a "greased" putty knife as a 'shoehorn' to make the thing slide down into place between the two ears of the yoke.

Took some wigglin', as it is really a tight fit, but they will go in there.
