going to change oil and replace filter.how much hy.tran do I need to get.

my 686 holds 16 gallons of hy-tran. should be close to your 666.

My "70 544 Hydro takes 20 Gallons to be topped off. Make sure you get all the fluid out from all the drain holes and follow maintenance recomendation for the process.

Jon: Been close to 20 years, so basically I'm testing my memory here. My thoughts are 16 gallons. Don't take that as gospel, I may be wrong, but I'm betting guys will jump on me quick if I am.

yep, manual says 16 gallons. Question though. last time i did mine, I had the oil drained already. Can you change the filter without dropping the oil?

Stickler: Yes you can change filter without changing oil. Best to have a catch pan as you will loose about a quart. More the mess than volume of oil you loose.
