I have been trying to get the fuel through the injector pump and to the injectors on my Int. 504 by pulling it. I found the motor would not turn because of the compression in the motor. So I took out the glow plugs and tried. Fuel came through but no luck starting after putting the plugs back in. Now the rear wheels are trying to turn in opposite directions while I am pulling it. Does it matter if the pto in engaged? Mine is not. I tried putting the rear on jacks and turning the rear wheels to turn the motor. Nothting happened. Any Ideas. Also, what could I get for this tractor selling it as is after rebuilding the motor but it not running.????

I would say that you have it out of time , if you have fuel to the injectors and it does not want to go as these tractors are not rocket secince. If it is timed correctly and it has compression , fuel and spark for a gasser or good compreshion for the diesel along with in your case good glow plugs and battery it should pop off in less then a min. Now is all the air bled out of the fuel lines to the pump? Are the fuel filters full with no air and if the pump is good and every thing is as it should be getting fuel to the injectors takes about two min of cranking at the most . As i do not know what all you have done to this engine it is real hard for all of us to figure out what is wrong. . All i can tell you is pull the vavle cover off and get #1 out on TDC with both valves in the closed posision where the rockers are both lose and check your timming marks and then open thew littel window on the side of the pump and make sure that both lines are together. If the engine was tore all the way down and you had the timming gears out of did you get the pumpshaft in wright where the two dots line up on the ends of the shaft. My buddy screwed up setting a pump on a 1066 and after he burnt the starter up tryen to get it to go and after asken him atleast 50 times are you sure that you have it in time i went over and pulled the pump and reset it and it fired wright up he was only 180 out.

Your tractor, like all tractors, has a differential in it. The differential allows each rear wheel to turn at a different rate when going around corners. Otherwise, the tractor would basically only go straight ahead. It would be extremely difficult to turn, if not impossible.

On a differential, there are three shafts. There's the input shaft from the engine, and two output shafts. At any time, AT LEAST two of these must turn. If you stop one wheel, and turn the engine shaft, the other wheel turns. If you prevent the engine from turning, and turn one wheel, the other wheel turns backwards. It's normal operation for the differential.

Now, before you really FUBAR something up, STOP. Seek local professional help. There is something seriously wrong, and if you keep jerking on that tractor, you're going to wreck it... Please, for the sake of the tractor and your own personal safety. You've probably got the cylinders pumped so full of diesel fuel that they can't turn over.

Are you sure your tractor doesn't have a hydrostatic lock from excess diesel fuel on top of the pistons? I wouldn't pull it anymore until I found the problem with the engine. Your bearings may be too tight. It should crank with the starter. Hal
