Hey guys, I just bought an A that came with a one-bottom plow and it has the exhuast lift that works. I have this plow hooked up to the the rear section that lifts it and I have the two eyes on the front axle hooked up but I cannot figure out where the flat bar in the middle goes. Maybe I am missing parts but, all I have is a flat bar with five holes on the end in the middle. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

Hi J.R; The picture of this Farmall A tractor
with plow was taken 30 years ago on a Polaroid.
Haven't been able to get it posted. I'll mail
you some prints off the scanner. My email is open
I'll need your name and address.

You should be able to determine where all the brackets go on your tractor. That short vertical bracket probably controlled the plow depth. My tractor had the manual lift too. Even though that 16-inch plow was very heavy it didn't require that much effort to raise and lower it. Did a nice job plowing too. Hal

I had to look at a photograph of a Farmall A that I restored that had a moldboard plow that came with it and the plow was installed when the picture was taken.

1. One vertical short bracket attaches near the underside center of tractor.
2. A longer bracket attaches under the steering
shaft near the right front of tractor.
3. Another bracket looks as if it attaches to the under side of engine near the bottom of radiator.

I had never installed this plow before and the brackets seem to reach to where they belong.

The other end of these brackets are attached near the center of the plow beam under the tractor. This plow does a good job plowing. Hal

Do you have the lever that mounts in the center of the tractor? If I understand you right the bar you are talking about goes from the mounting brackets under the belly of the tractor, up to a lever, that is used as depth control for the plow.

No Ronald, I don't have the lever in the center, the plow was not attached when I bought it. I'll bet it has been misplaced over the years. I'll check with the guy I bought it from but, if he doesn't have it any idea where I could get one? Hey El Toro, can you post a picture? Thanks for the help.

We're going to try and make a copy from that old photo. I'll contact you later. Hal
