My son and I dragged home a Regular over 1000miles Sat. It dosent have a ID plate. The seller said that it was a 29, but He didnt say how he knew that. What other way is there to ID it? Also, it was the one that was recently on the web for sale wityh the power lift. Someone said that IHC never made a lift like that for Regulars, but id say hes at least 1/2 wrong, This may not have origionally been a power lift system for a Regular, but it definatly is a IHC part. It has the IHC logo, plus a stamped part # on it. Ive farmed since 68 or 9, and always with antique equipment, and so, if the fellow is right, then somone found a universal angle enclosed gear housing, left angle, off of some other IHC machine and ingeniously made it to work on the Reg. It comes back to attach to a pipe running across the back of the seat, attaching to holes in the rear axle gear drops. I suppose it is for a planter or cultivator. Ive got a hundred questions on this thing, but ill only ask a few at a time so as to get the full meat of your responses, Thanks for the time and help. Bill

The Regulars has a stamping on the left front frame rail, it should be on top. The engine, if original, should have a serial# stamping on the left side of the block. The power lift that you have described is a type of late production regular or perhaps a F-20 model lift. I have recently acquired a F-20 with a power lift. It was primarily used for listing or middlebusting. I wish you best of luck, maybe my comments will be somewhat useful.

It has no oil filter, but then its missing a few things. It has an oil line coming out the front right side, T ing off to who knows where as its broke off right at the junction of the T, and the other line running to the govener housing. It has a flat spring for the seat, and the air cleaner comes out of the top. On the block it has the numbers OC 50485 , and on the left rail, it has 50506

That broken T goes to the oil pressure guage. No oil filter is correct.

Bill, On a Farmall Regular you will find the serial # located on top of the left frame rail near the front under or near the air cleaner. Also will be on the left front of the block above the water return from the radiator.

If the block hasent been changed the serial# will be stamped in it (not cast in it) The serial # should be on the frame rail too I believe forward towards the Mag. Is the seat channel or flat spring steel? Does the aircleaner intake come ot the top of the aircleaner or run out the side and up? Is there an oil filter?
