Bought two lights for the M. In the cleaning/restoration process I took them apart and noticed that some of the inside was not painted. The spot in question is at the very top of the light housing.

The question is: Was this intentional or just a painter that missed the spot on the inside? Understand that I am trying to restore this to absolute perfection. Want it perfect. Thanks.

If you want it perfect, you can't rely on pre-primed or pre-painted parts, as the suppliers aren't painters, and it will have been done very cheaply. Best to strip them and start over. Personally, on the inside of a light, I wouldn't be too concerned, just give it a squirt of paint when you are painting something else. But, the only way to get it perfect is to start over.

Hey I may be way off on this. God knows it has happened before. But on old lamps I've seen float in the rubber mount. There is often a spring on the lamp that presses against the housing to establish ground. Do you have a separate ground wire to the lamp?

The ground wire is from the bulb holder to the lamp housing.

Charles!!

Post a picture of it anyway! Farmalls don't have to be painted to look good.

Look at this winded old tractor. Now, don't tell me that she doesn't pull on your heartstrings just a little?

They just have character, paint or no paint. Everyone of 'em. :>)

I just saw this tractor on ebay before reading your post and she is a pulling. I have it on my watch list. Still interested in that cyclo 500 planter?

Hi Curt,

Isn't she just an old sweetheart? It would take some cash to get her going again, but darnit, she looks like she is worth it to me. Go get 'er!

You bet on the Cyclo 500! You find it and I'll buy it. 6-row narrow with both the corn and bean drums.

BTW, I've lost your email; so, maybe you could shoot me one so I can stay in contact with you?

Thanks,

Allan

About everyone I've had apart was like that. Left factory that way. I do wonder why it's the same area that was missed though !

They are all like that, most that I have had apart did not have as much paint on the inside as yours.
