i was wondering for pulling is it better to have tires that have more lugs, and what angle do u want them at? What is a good brand to get? does anyone know what the dry weight of a new average 14.9 x 38 tire is compared to a 13.6? i want to put new 14.9"s on but i dont want to get over 5,000 lbs. im currently at about 4,750 lbs.

Joe, you probably want to post on the pulling section. I post there often and will answer your question though. I would look at a 15.5x38 before a 14.9x38. The 14.9 has a larger circumference than the 15.5. Titan makes a good tire and so does Firestone. Firestoneag.com has sizes, weights of the different plies and the different measurements of their tires. Now, when you mention, "more lugs," do you mean bars on the tire? If thats the question, just look at what the people in the hook magazine are running. The big time pullers are running 23 degee bars mostly except for the really cut tires. I am leaving my email open. Just email and we can discuss more.
