If you come up with a custom made set up make sure and post details on how you do it. I'am going to have to figure somthing out for my 756 to. Drained coolant today and took a look, my thermostat is stuck about 1/3 open. Works fine to warm it up now, but when I put it to work this spring I have a feeling there's going to be overheating trouble. Maybe if Allan reads this he can post a right side picture of his 686 310 so we know what parts to look for.

well my dad is going to try to tool something up he actually works full time at harley davidson company as a tool and die foreman for this will be his 40th year. we'll see the other way to fis is convert to new style 310 thermostat. you need a front motor plate that the water pump bolts to, all the gaskets hoses new style thermo stat is in that front plate housing. and a cast elbow and hoses. depending on used prices and availbilty around here it'll cost me to go that route like 350 400 with everything just to convert a dang thermo stat thanks
