greetings, I was in the process of repairing a leaky radiator, decided to paint, then decided to replace the valve cover gasket, then the oil pan gasket, you know how it goes,, I found part of the piston skirt in the pan... needless to say I need 4 pistons and rings...the cylinders are fine,, will just need a light honing.. my question is where is the best place to buy em...
also.. will the hydraulic sustem run a log splitter it has been plummed for 2 way action?? Thanks in advance

A few years ago I went through this with a SMTA. It was stuck, pistons and sleeves weren't in that bad of shape but I broke a sleeve taking it out. Priced a piston and sleeve plus rings for the rest and ended up close to a whole piston sleeve kit.

jnewark, you could try a parts house,napa or one of the parts supply places here on this site but you will probably find a complete set of sleeves and pistons with rings will be about the same price. as far as the hydraulics the old belly pumps put out about 900-1000 psi, if you have a live pump possibly 1500-1800 psi,depends on the size of the log spliter cylinder to.good luck,farm-al.
