I am still trying to figure out the whole oil pressure guage thing on my tractor. The old guage is a female connection of 7/16, the new guage has a male connection which measured at 3/8, the old tubing that comes up to the guage has a fitting that is 7/16. If I wanted to use my current new guage what do you reccomend that I do?

Also, if I wanted to completely replace the whole line and get the correct guage, what would the correct part numbers be and who can I get them from? I have pictures if someone needs to visualy see this situation.

I used brake line and some adapters - 1 for connection to the block and 1 for connection to the gauge...

I just replaced the oil gauge on my 400 and I had to take the adapter off my old gauge and put on my new one

Hi Tanner, Send me the diameter of the old tubing. I have a fitting I think will fit and I'll send it to you. Hal

take your new gauge and the tube down to NAPA and they should be able to fix you up.

I tried the NAPA, and the local city NAPA is a very sad store. I will figure this out, but it is funny how the threads are so different.

I should first say that Hal and Stan have been helping also. I wasn't talking in wrench sizes except for the fitting on the tubing side. I actually measured the threads on the two guages and I got 7/16 for the old, and 3/8 on the new guage.

A REAL auto parts store will have a cabinet of brass fittings and adapters with what you need to connect it up. You'll probably have to take the line and gauge along to match up the fittings.

A couple of the sizes you mention don't make sense, you apparently have a mixture of pipe thread and compression fitting sizes, and are giving the sizes as if they are bolt threads. Anyhow, no problem, if you can find a place with fittings and a knowlegeable counterman.

Hi Bob,

Sounds to me like he is talking in wrench sizes instead of tubing sizes.

Allan
