I new there was a lot of dump people in the world but where did all you people posting about gas come from. Do you think that inflation is going to stop with just gas. Do you think that the increase in food is going to go to the farmer. Some of you guys do farm or are you like the people in the big city that don’t know where the store gets it’s stuff to sell. After reading some of the posts I can see why gas is $2 a gallon and going up no one gives a crap. Any idiot can see where this is going if fuel goes up everything goes with it. Maybe you have not check the price of anhydrous yet you really want to pay twice as much this year. Sure don’t make sense to me with corn and beans less then they were 30 years ago. I sure did think the people on here knew somthing but I sure was wrong.

There is not just one answer I saying we all are dumb for just taking it. I would start with term limits, we all know that once in there it is almost imposable to get them out. We got one just across the river in Omaha that should never got elected in the first place and been in there for 25 years. Did you know the oil in Alaska if taken goes to Japan, does that make sense. I don't know it all just saying there is better gas milage to have, got to get the auto makers and the oil companies out of the same bed.

I reckon I'm one of them dump people, I'm really really pi$$ed about the price of fuel. Haven't thought much about anything else, I'll check on the anhydrous first thing tomorrow though.

Aces, I"m so glad you posted this issue. I"m glad because since you think all of us are so "dump" here, that you must have the answer. If you don"t have the answers, then its hard for me not to assume that you are as "dump" as the rest of us. I"m sure all of us are eager to learn how you would solve the problem. I know I can hardly wait.

Gas prices are to high, but its not just because of one thing. The oil companys are useing plants that where new in the 30-40 and now they are out of date and can"t keep up with demand so prices go up because there isn"t enough crude oil turned in the gas/diesel etc. Then theres congress and the way they do taxes etc. And thens there is also us most drive trucks/cars that get 10-15 MPG and drive 30 plus miles one way to work, and they don"t even use that truck/car for work so we are as much at fualt as anybody else. If people would drive cheap cars that get good MPG when they could it would help. Yes not all of us can do that but every little bit helps.

if the plants can't keep up then why is there not any shortages...i worked for an oil company we the natural gas shortage was around..what we did not sell went in the gound..so everyone just keep believing the companies, when they get what they want then it will stop, a lot has already been done for them, i think every elected person we have should serve 1 term at a time even the president...the presidents start as soon as they take office for the next term and so do the house and senate....stop appointing these judges for life, every other person has to retire at a certain age...boot them(got old farts up there that can't make good decisions....goods boy this feels good sorry for the ranting..... ..may god bless

I find it interesting that the same people who
won't let us utilize the newest methods for drilling in North America (ANWAR),now are running
around screaming about the price of fuel.( I'm not
saying any of you guys here ).From what I know
( not always much )and have read,we really need
more new and modern refineries to,since most are
running at capacity right now.

Bingo..... .you"re right on. Another reason for the price of fuel is that the economy is robust which means that manufacturing is up not only here in the U.S., but world wide. That means that the demand for fuel is up. All those who carped about our economy being stagnant a few months ago can now carp about the price of fuel which is a by product of a robust economy. Fuel prices is directly linked to customer demand.

Aces, You'd probably have a hard time finding the people here that you are calling dumB. A lot of folks' knowledge is demonstrated in the good advice that they give on tractors. I would guess that it's a pretty common feeling (in America anyway) that there isn't much that we can do, short of tuning everything to run on ethanol or voting out the King of Saudi Arabia. Maybe while Mr. Bush is clearing the forests he can have a few oil wells dug.
Living in America ain't cheap. We have a standard of living here that demands that WE support it. With the price of everything in our lives going up, it seems that these price hikes should have been expected. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't support the rise in price. I just seem to accept it. It's kinda like the difficulty that I have finding Beeman's Gum. Things just keep going onwards, and unfortunatly, upwards.
You're preachin' to the choir Bubba!

Today it is a GOTTA HAVE AND GOTTA HAVE IT NOW And will just put it on the plastic . I was living back in the dark ages and thinking that when the gas hit the 1.50 mark that people would slow down and stay home alittel more NAH just fill the tank and go . Look back at when this all started 1970 first pickup truck i bought 3/4 ton ford 1975 bucks nothing fancy V8 4 speed am radio spare tire. 1973 New F250 4x4 V8 Auto trans posi power steering am radio big radaitor big heater 4000 bucks 1978 F250 bascily same truck now 10217 bucks that was the last new one all the rest are now well use wore out junk that i try and fix . ANd the cost of fuel i have to set back and chuckel as the end is not in sight and they always told me to charge as much as the market will stand plus 10% . In time it will break us look around jobs leaving nothing but imported junk in the stores even imported junk for our old tractors and everybody buying it up like no tomarrow . Why don't we make this stuff ourselfs here in what is left of this country , well i live in a small town that UES TO HAVE FOUNDRYS that use to cast IRON well the EPA shut them down because it cost to much to met the standards now in tiwan or china they don't have EPA or tree hugers or pita and if someone falls into a pot of hot matel oh well no osha there . This lovely state that i live in has only lots over 22000 jobs last year oh well .

Hey, just where in the sam hill do you get off talking about the dark ages of gas @ $1.50/gal. and complaining about driving a "70 Ford pickup. Let me tell you a thing or two buddy. Why, it was just last March that I bought a "67 F100 Ford pickup and drove it back from Florida and was a penny-pincher about the gas price. This way I could afford more Coca-Cola-I own stock. I buy my Coke by the 24 pack to save money. My oldest tractor is a "45 Ford 2N and my newest would be a "59 Farmall 340 or one of two 240 utilities. And what have you got stuck in your craw about pita? I like animals, they"re tasty. People Eating Tasty Animals. And then there is the subject of osha! Don"t you know that is a small town in Northern Wisconsin...I think. Just another hyphenated American - aka - Full Blooded Norwegian-American here, still waiting for an affirmative-action program for us folks. Guess I"ll go put my check in the bank.

Now i was not complaining about driven one as it was new at the time and i realy started complaining about the price of gas when it went over 30 cents a gal. and in my area of this rock in space we have seen alot of jobs go because of the wackos just take a drive about thiry min. from me and ask the guy that use to run dragline or a dart or loader or dozer or all my old trucken buddys that lost everything back in 80 and 81 ,some were lucky enough to change operations if they had any money left or was lucky enough to sell or move on to some other freight because the coal mines were shut down or the steel mills that use to be in my area are now bare fields .

Aces, I think for the most part everyone pretty much agrees with you and your sentiments on the problem. But like Rusty says, do you have a fix for the problem? I know I dont, but I do my own thing to limit the amount of money that I give to the Arabs. #1 I heat my home for the most part with wood I cut off of my properety. #2 I try to limit my driving to essential driving, like back and forth to work. #3 I should probablly write to my elected officials and complain about the high cost of petroleum. Other than that, I dont know what else to do!
