I have a M with a magneto that does not work, has a coil hooked up to it and it runs. Can I just pull out the magneto and replace it with a old M distributor and everything fit? Will the timing be the same will the plug wires match?

Yes from what I am told the mounts the same line up the rotor finish timing by IT manual and you should be all set. What are you going to do with the mag I may be interested. MagMan

I dont beleve that anyone is making one yet.Back in the days when a coil went in a mag it was close to $100.00 to buy one now there in the mid $30s the points can last for years and years with just redressing. The Condenser is the only other thing. That would usally go and thats an easy fix also.If you lube them when your supposed to the trips will last a long time also with the rest of the mag taking care of it the way it should be it will last a very long time. Back in the day and still now they seem scarry to people that dont understand how they make power and dont want to tuch them. JON

Just replace the original coil. You could drive down I-80 to the OXFORD turnoff to my place and we can fix it rite up.
