I got myself into a small jam. To make a long story short I was promised a 560 fast hitch for my 400. The opportunity came up to sell the 3 pt. off my 400 and against my better judgement I sold it. The fast hitch that I had been assured would be available for me fell through. Fortunately I located one in WY, which is closer than the one I lost out on. I went up to WY last week and he put together a hitch out of 2 that he had in the yard. I went to install it yesterday and found that he had gotten parts together from both a 560 and a 460. I know that the side mount brackets, the front center belly bracket, the draft control rod and the anti-sway assembly are different. Is there anything else? Does anyone have a parts sheet for these 2 hitches that they could either scan and e-mail or fax to me? I would like to be able to campare the two hiches parts break downs side by side before I go back to WY to get this straightened out. My e-mail is open. Thanks in advance!

Ernie, Sorry I have been out of town for a few days. Took the planter up to Allan and then went to a wild two day/two site estate sale in Kansas and Nebraska. Just got home. I have a parts manual for the 560 if you need it. I you are out at your place tomorrow I will drop it off.

Ernie: I suspect the only pat that may be same is pull bar and drawbar. The 560 chassis must be 2" to 4" wider than 460. That will make the entire top end different.

Hugh, the rear side brackets have the hinge point on the inside of the brackets to accomodate for the width difference.

I was under the impression that you couldn't put a 560-style fast hitch on a 400. 450, yes, but not a 400. The rear end casting is different, right?

Sorry to be a wet blanket.

Eddie All of 450 and 560 hitches will fit right on 400. Problem is the 400 hitch will not fit the MTA, 450 or 560.

A 560 will fit on a 400 and a 460 will fit on a 300. The rear casting is the same on the SMTA through the 560. It's probably the same for the M. I put a 560 fast hitch on my SMTA, it bolted right on. I think the deck lid might be different on the 400 but that doesn't affect the mounting of the 560 fast hitch.

Thanks!

Ernie, everything you wrote is correct except for the reference to the M. One whould have to fabricate alot of stuff to mount a Fast Hitch on a M. I had to face this problem when mounting a FH on a 650.

The 560 tub is slightly different than the earlier models. The difference, however, is internal to accomodate heavier (thicker, as I recall) bearings in the transmission.
