Learned Somptin' New Today

I've got the local red mech scourin' every darned iron pile in the county for a second set of front end weights.

He tells me that the bolt pattern is the same on the small chassis tractors as it is on the large chassis tractors. They take the same identical weight brackets and the same weights.

Hmmm, this bowlegged ol' fool just didn't know these things. Now, I'm beginning to think that I must have lead a sheltered life down on the flatland. :>(

The four bolt pattern had enough strength, as I once operated a Rockland Rotoveyor, 7,500 lbs on hitch as I recall. We put on 16 - 100# weights lined another 12 in skid loader bucket, put a chain through handles the two sets for mounting. This was in 1978 and guy selling Rotoveyor wondered what kind of hick town was this that didn't have a 200 hp tractor to demonstrate his machine. 1066 had 20.8x38 duals and at the end of the day his machine was sold.

They will also fit some other makes of tractors to,My dad put one on a 6610 ford it fit looks almost factory if it didn't have the IH on the weights.

I'll be doggoned. 'Spose it was an industry standard or something?

I never would have guessed that they would bolt up across the manufacturers' lines.
