It seems ALL of the paper gaskets that I have for my engine rebuild kit are a tad to small. I'd swear they all shrank. Is it possible and how do you correct it?

Yes, they will shrink. Place them in a shallow baking pan and cover with warm water, keep the water warm if possible. The gaskets should return to normal size within 30 minutes or so. Might take longer.

Years ago, I have soaked srunk cork gaskets in water for several days and they expanded back to original size. Its worth a try.

I know I learned the hard way when I bought a new old stock gasket set. The head gasket was one of the only ones that didn't shrink. The cork ones were the ones that shrunk the most. I fixed it by making new ones out of gasket material.

So far I'm having to make all new gaskets like you did. Never would have guessed, and would of thought someone gone mad if they told me different. Backus, you made me feel sane again. Wish I would of known, could have saved me some money. I wonder if some moisture and heat would make them stretch back out? Got to do something, can't have that money just thrown out in the trash.
