Hey there all you Red Power enthusiasts. I've been having trouble with my W6's carburetor regarding it leaking and making the old girl hard to start up. I was wondering if you think I should get a carb kit and redo it or if it's just something else minor in the settings? I was also wondering what is available out there in regards to a loader for my W6. I've seen them on other tractors and as I'd like to be able to push snow and load manure it would really make it worthwhile. I would lke to get ahold of one that has both hydraulic raise and dump as well. I know those old trip loaders have broken more than a few manure spreader axles when there contents come down to hard. Thanks to all in advance and I look forward to the input.
Sincerely Allan Lance

We just bought a '51 W6, with a loader on it... It handles just fine, it also handles big round bales (with a bale fork) nicely... We also have a blade for it as well...

I have seen a W6 with a loader on it , but that looks like some kind of self torture to me! Do you think it steers hard now? With a loader on- Whoa! Just joking around, but it would be tough to steer. My SW6TA is harder to steer than my IH 600 (W9 derrivative) with no loader on it. Still, I can see your point. Do you have live hydraulics? Maybe you want to go the whole way and put on power steering.

Hi Allan,

I put a rebuild kit into my W4 carb that was leaking. It still leaked. Turns out the float was bad and the adjusting screws were gummed up, etc etc. Finally just sent it out and had the whole thing cleaned and rebuilt by a pro. The main adjust screw still leaked but all it took was some tightening via the nut at the base of the adj screw. I dont have any loader info. Good luck.
