I've had this tractor for several years. At first, 2 to 3 years, I had no problems whatsoever. I use it mostly to plow snow so in the summer and even in the winter it gets used only occasionally. After a few years I got into trouble partly because of some additives I felt were needed and partly because the gas cans I was using became contaminated. I pulled the gas tank and the carbuerator and cleaned them thoroughly. If I don't use the tractor for a while, I still have trouble with the carbuerator float sticking which causes it to flood. Any suggestions?

due to the poor quailty of fuel that is advalble to us, I have found that adding fuel stabilizer to the fuel year around. When a machine is shut down for any leght of time it will help it from sticky floats. We have found at work that we have problems after 1 months time. Have an H and farm on the side. Run stabilized fuel year round

Skip, I rebuilt my '47 H's carb, checked the float level at a machine shop where they had the measurement tools to get it right. In spite of these efforts, I had a problem with the float sticking. Every time I'd go to start it - even with the shutoff at the sediment bowl closed - I'd pull the air cleaner pipe off the intake port on the carb and catch a little pour of gas. Per a suggestion found on this forum, I gave some rapping bangs on the side of the bowl of the carb and that float sticking problem hasn't reappeared in five months of snow-pushing use. Hope your solution is that easy.

You might want to clean the carb and lub the float some how.
