Has anyone used a Speedi-Sleeve to repair the shaft on a hydraulic pump on a C123 motor? I'm leaking pass the seal into the motor oil. The shaft has a some wear on it. How did it work? What size did you use? Thanks

Jim, if yours uses the seal and not an o-ring, the C/R # is 6229 (seal) & 99062(speedi-sleeve). Same numbers are used at NAPA and price is $5.30 and 31.49 respectively.

There should be a Motion Industies bearing house around you someplace. Take your pump there and as others said, they will measure it and get you the Speedy sleeve you need. They can also probably get you the shaft seal for the pump. I've not used a Speedi spleeve for this application, but did use one for the main steering gear lower seal on a Super C. Holds oil now with no leaks.

Speedi sleeve is fine. I have one on the pump on my C, same as your 123. Take the shaft to a bearing and seal place, they will measure the shaft and sell you the right sleeve for twenty something dollars.

Put a vernier caliper measuring to the shaft...those wear sleeves are paper thin stainless and only cover a small range of measurements. There are page after page of different sizes of sleeves.Get one too small and you will pulverize it tapping it down the shaft, too large and you couldnt get enough Loctite to hold it from spinning freely.
And they arent cheap!

I recently put new O rings in my hydraulic pump on Super C. Probably should have used a Speedy Sleeve, but don't know where to get one?? My pump had the O rings, not the seal...so, NO seal number. Seems to be holding so far, but probably not for long, 'cause shaft has a grove cut in it!! Cmore

The parts store can tell you what size to use by giving them the seal #.

Gene, do you remember how much it cost and what size you used. Was it a Chicago Rawhide brand? Thanks.

I got it from CAR-QUEST and they come with a sleeve to install. Last one i got was for the crankshaft where the front seal goes and was 30.00 some bucks. I have the installer for the C PUMP if you need to borrow it.

Two brands I know of. Speedi-sleeve and Redi-sleeve, far as I know they are equivalent, see my answer above for the source.
