Robert, You should look into getting something a little more modern, say a International 1000 balanced head mower. Even that is somewhat old, but much more advanced than the #25. You should be able to get a 7 footer for under 400 dollars.

Back in the late fourtys we hade a 27v,I think that i what Dad called it..... there was two short plates that were bolted to the mower draw bar..... the plates then bolted to the M draw bar..... I was a small boy and I had a hard time getting them lined up..... As I remember it did a fine job ...We keep our road sides mowed and it takes a good sickle bar mower to do a goood job in grass....

Most #25 mowers have aflat drawbar that has several holes in it this goes on top of the M"s
drawbar some of the holes will line up to bolt it down the M"s tongue can be moved to the right
or left to make room for mounting plate,it doesn"t have to be removed to mount mower the 25&27 mowers do a nice job I have one of each
last year I bought a 120 ballance head no pitman arm to break hay field can be mowed all the way to the road mower drops down in road ditch while M rides on road good luck Carl
