I've got an IH 733 that after it runs for a little while the oil foams and it eventually gets to where it won't even lift the three point empty.
Can't find any problems and am about ready to pull the pump and look at it. Anybody have any other ideas before I do this. I live in Ohio and don't have a local dealer, but most dealers I have talked to aren't to interesed in helping since it is a German Tractor.

Foaming tells me that there's air getting into the pumping system somehow. Pulling the pump and rebuilding it with all new seals, orings, and gaskets might not be a bad idea.

Hi Ronald, you say the "oil foams". Are you sure that you haven't got detergent crankcase oil mixed in with the Hytran hydraulic oil.

This happened to my brother several years ago. He bought a wood splitter at a farm auction.
Hooked it up to his IH 454 and everything worked OK but when we used the 454 in the field and the hydraulic oil would get hot the hydraulic brakes would go spongy. Bleed the brakes and the hydraulic oil was all full of air bubbles.

Turns out the cylinder on the wood splitter had been used on a Ferguson tractor that had detergent motor oil as the hydraulic oil. There was enough of detergent motor oil got mixed with the IH Hytran oil to cause foaming and air bubbles. Had to drain and flush the transmission/hydraulic system three times before got rid of the detergent oil.

Hope this helps

Don't think that could be the trouble, have changed the oil several times and it foams with out using any implements with it.

Hi Ronald, probably the hydraulic pump is sucking air somewhere. I not fimiliar with the 733 model. Neighbour had a 633 and there were som 624s and 824s around. Does it have a 4 speed transmission and then Hi/Lo/Rev on another lever?
Is the hydraulic filter under the foot rest on the clutch side of the transmission?

It has a four speed lever, a hi low and reverse, and another hi low lever. Pump is mounted on the right side of engine and drives of the timing gears. Filter is in pressure line between pump and control valve.

Ronald, Sorry never worked on one like that.

Is there a wire mesh filter on the suction line in the reservior that could be clogged?

Since you have changed hydraulic oil and filter, I still think problem is either clogged suction line or air getting in suction line.

Good luck

Yes there is a wire filter in the suction line, but I cleaned it when I changed the oil. Guess I going to tear the pumo off.

Thanks
