Hi,

Years ago I acquired a Farmall H or M factory built road grader. I have never seen a tractor like this before. Does anyone know anything about them?

I have an American Road Equipmet #8 grader on an M. Made in Omaha in '48? They were pretty popular around here, I wonder if that is what yours is. Real long and it has a cab that looks like a Minnie. Mine still has a nameplate, and the company name is cast into the front wheels.

I have seen several different variations on the road graders, don't think I've seen one like the trojan before. There were other makes using farmalls. Last year for the first time I saw a dredge outfit using chasis from a MD.

Thanks to all of you for your helpful comments. My grader looks older than the one in the photo, but still similar. If anyone knows of a potential buyer, I would appreciate a referral. I am going to post a photo as soon as I travel back to Nebraska to get one.

Roger - Look anything like in this photo? (punch below)

This is a Trojan unit based on a Farmall M. It was assembled I believe in Trojan's former Batavia (NY) plant. These units were fairly common in rural highway dept's in the 50's and 60's here in western NY.

There were similar units built around Allis WD-45 and Minnie-Mo U tractors built by outfits such as Adams, Huber, Trac(?), etc.

I have no idea what one might be worth today...

It might be a Huber. Some of their models were based on the M.

I am interested in selling this Farmall road grader and I was wondering what it is worth. It is in pretty good shape, runs, and may add to someone"s collection. It is located in north central Nebraska. Does anyone know a price range that I should be asking for it? Thanks.

I believe it was a Gallion Grader Co. begining.
Friend has a M Grader, the Diff. locked, so both wheels are driving, hard to steer so he put Power steering on it. Have seen H's and an Allis WC used as chassis.

I have seen a couple M graders in Western, Pa.
They look to be extremely heavy.
