T-6 vs M on engine front cover?

Will an engine front cover from a T-6 crawler fit an M? I found one in a scrap yard that has a neat little hour meter (or something like it) on it. What I do know is that the T-6 engine is supported in the front like the F-20 and MD. Will this affect the way it would fit into a Farmall? Obviously, I'm not going to mount the M engine like the T-6.

Im not going to swear to it,but Iwould think the front engine mount would get in the way of something, unless that peice isnt on the cover you found.

I believe that the T-6, W-6, and I-6 all used that same front cover. I think the front cover can be used on the M, but the M front cover won't work on the others. If the hour meter is what you are interested in, I think that IH offered it as an option for the M also, maybe not quite the same?

I don't know if it is an hour meter, or a revolution counter. It is geared to the end of the mag drive, so it only sees the revolutions of the mag/dist. I don't think it is actually an hour meter since it has no time base, just revolutions. Its mounting base is cast into then the end of the front cover, so the cover was made to have it. The mechanism needs work since it is froze up, but it is complete. Just needs a little TLC. I just thought it would look neat/odd on the M I am building. Something else for collectors to scratch their heads over.

I believe that would still be considered an hour meter. Yes, it varys by engine speed, but usually that type of meter indicates an hour at a certain RPM. Of course at idle it would take a lot longer to put an hour on. Is it a little square box about 2x2x3 inches? My SW6ta has one on it. It was an option.
