Would an experienced person recommend removing the fan to get the radiator out or could I just get by detatching the fan shroud? Thanks.

The easiest way I've found is to support the tractor under the clutch housing, removing the steering shaft, remove the bolts from the front end frame rails, and slide the whole front end forward to clear the fan. You'll probably have to loosen the other frame rail bolts in order to have enough wiggle room.

Having been there and done that, you have to remove the fan shroud if it's complete. This can be loads of fun, dealing with the four bolts holding it on.

On my H, someone torched the bottom of the fan shroud out so it would lift up and out without having to remove it. Problem is that totally destroyed the structural integrity of the shroud...

Thanks. Removing the shroud worked and it was as much fun as you said. What's the joke with the blind castle nuts on the mounting posts? I hate it when some engineer decides to teach me patience. Got a couple of nasty cuts that unfortunately look exactly like a nazi SS ensignia. Hope they don't scar.
