Hey Sloroll, I found the serial numbers you told me to look for. The number on the frame is FB 2098 and the number on the block is 2143. I hope this will give me more info. Also, as I was scrapping paint away so I could see the numbers, all I saw was red paint. No grey underneath.

You have a 1932 Duck billed F-30. It was almost certainly painted gray origionaly. Sometimes it is very difficult to find the gray. That frame number and block number tell the story. Someone probably replaced the tool box with another. That is an easy fix. You got a good one bud.

If I can figure out how to post pictures I will. I have some on a floppy disc that I took yesterday. Also, the person my dad bought this tractor from told him that his dad bought it new in 37. I'm kinda confused now.

It is possible it sat on the lot for a long time, the dealer lied or your friend was confused. My dad bought a new hay rake in 68. I was so proud of that rake because it was the only new thing on the farm. I found out a couple years ago it was used..... It looked new to me!

The F series were painted Farmall red from 37-39. That was a long time ago and somebody may be getting dates confused. Exactly what is the story behind "duckbilled F-30s"?

What I do is got go "Tractor OPhotos" (to the left on this page) And follow it's instructions to post the photo there. Once the picture is posted right click the picture and chose "Properties" Copy the photos address (It will end in jpg) then when you make the post here, copy that address to optional image URL below the post. You don't have to use the "Tractor Photos" if you post pictures somewhere else on the web. You will still select Properties from that site and post the same way.

Hope you don't mind. Yup, that is a ducky! It should be ray but who cares. I sure looks nice! Looks to be in great condition too.

In answere to a previous post. The Duck billed 30s and 20s were the earliest of the F series before they went to worm and pinion steering. The F12s lead the way with the worm and pinion in 33 or preproduction 32s.
