Looking for advice on painting a 311 fast hitch plow. What is the best way to paint the blue iron parts and backs of moldboards? Mine has super chief bottoms on it,with some blue paint still on them, were they originally blue? I plan on shooting the beam and taking off what I can like the tailwheel etc. Hows the easiest way to paint the iron parts so they look good?

This doesn't sound very professional but 30 years ago I painted an old trail plow with Tremclad blue paint. I sold it last year and the blue paint was still there. Could have used a touch up. I think you can now get custom color mix, but the paint lasted forever.
Alternatively go to a heavy equipment paint dealer. There are specialty guys who mix paints for loaders and dump trucks. Probaly epoxy base but it works great.

I think our local graphic shop can make all the decals for a 311, A guy in our club restored a 311 and bought all new decals including the ones on the molboards. I will check on this, this week and post the name of the place that can make them.
