I just bought my grandfather"s H and am going to restore it. It has always been shedded. Went to pull it out of the shed and into the shop last weekend. When we pulled it, there was a vibration on the left side. When it was parked 12 years ago everything was working/running great. Does it sound like this is a brake problem? It quit vibrating when we got the wheels turning more rapidly. Should this be a major concern for me. I am trying to do this on a budget. Any ideas on where I should go/do first?

Any info would be helpful.

I’m not sure what type of vibration you have but a couple things come to mind. Tires will get a flat spot on them when they set for a while, but they get round again after they run for a while.

The band type brakes like the H and M had are noted to “chatter” or vibrate if they get transmission oil on them that gets stiff over time. The bull pinion (the shaft the drum is on) seal may have been weeping before it was parked and over time the grease dripped onto the brake band. This could be your problem and if it is you can get by with disassembling the brake and using brake cleaner to clean up the surfaces of the band and drum. This is not the best way (which would be to replace the band) but unless you operate on extremely hilly terrain or plan to do a lot of high speed stopping will get you by.

the brakes are easy to get at. I'd take the covers off and clean them up. inspect the bands, jack up the wheels and turn by hand. you should be able to find any trouble.
