I am a new H owner and I need a manual (before I even touch it!). I can only get one, cause I spent all my money on the tractor. What is the best manual I can get? Thanks for the advice!

I just purchased a CD from ihaveadotcom.com. The guys name is phil summers. Very good guy to do business with. The CD gives the owners, parts, and service manual. It comes with Adobe Reader 6. It is very complete and easy to use. Mine was for a Farmall B. I would recommend this route to anyone.

Gentelmen, thanks for the replies, I am looking for as detailed of service manual as I can get. I suppose I will go with a IH reprint for service manual, and then purchase the operators manual as money permits.

THANKS!!!

If you go to e-bay and search "farmall" there is someone selling complete manual sets, operators, parts and service manuals, for each model. He has them on e-bay for about $29.95, but you can buy at his website for a few dollars cheaper. They all come on one CD along with a version of Adobe so you can read them.

Unless you"re "up-to-date" on old tractors, it would be well to have both the operator's manual and the part's catalog. The parts catalog is a big help in helping one see how things go together. I'd been away from H's for 50 years when I got mine and I find both of these manuals to be very helpful. They'll each save you frustration and get you acquainted with a wonderful Farmall. If at all possible get both.

The IT manual won't do you much good for general maintenance, as it is more of a service manual. What you want is a reprint of the original IH Operator's Manual from Binder Books, about $20. If you want to go deeper, they also have parts and service manuals --503-684-2024.

If you can find one, the one that IH printed is the best, an I.T. is ok but leaves a lot of guessing o9n somethings.

Go with the Operator's Manual if you can only afford one. It will give you lots of information on how to care for the H.
