Howdy,

I need a tractor to mainly mow my 10 acres. The land isn't current in hay, just weeds, but I need to keep them down. I also will use it to do normal round the property things.

I've been considering Ford 8N, MF 35 and smaller Farmalls. However, I've come across a International 350 with loader for $1500 in decent usable condition (see attached photo).

Here's how ignorant I am: I assume this is suitable for pulling a brush hog or similar? If I go look at it, what should I be running away from?

I don't mind eventually restoring it but it will need to earn its keep in the short-term.

Thanks for any info.

OK, I'm going to try and secure it tonight! Wish I had a trailer, I could go collect it ASAP.

If I'm successful, I'll be around a lot with a lot of dumb questions, fair warning.

From what I can see its worth the $1500 easy - even if the TA is out and the hydraulics are a bit slow. You could spend another $500 - $700 in repairs on that tractor and still be in the money.

Looks like a very heavy front loader, and it has front hydraulic pump....good things to have.
Besides....its a Ute....and you gotta love them Utes...Give it a while,it will grow on you,and you wont want to ever let it go.If the engine, clutch, rear end, hydraulics, steering, and TA are OK...BUY BUY BUY.

I would put A heavy duty gaurd in front of that pump in front of the tractor that is for sure!! and a better seat with a heavy duty top on the tractor just in case it did roll over plus it would be good to have in case you got caught out in the rain ;that tractor will do alot of work just the loader alone is worth that !!! I've got a Farmall 350 crop model - not a HC but does have the factory wide front end. I think all the 300 series tractors are great machines. (my $0.02) At that price - with a loader, I'd jump on it. If everything works (hyd and tires are decent) you can't go to far wrong. All I would add to what's been said previously is to check the sediment bowl for rust. For bush hogging, those utes are hard to beat. They're built low to the ground and can handle some very uneven ground, without sending thoughts of bailing off to your body!!!

If I could find out wher the tractor is and dig up my money fast enough I would buy it ;the frontend loader alone is worth $1,500 dollars not counting the tractor !!!!

Aw heck, you don't wanna bother with that ol 350, they are nothing but a headache....tell you what...you give me the feller's phone number that is selling it....and I will remove the eyesore from his property.

Seriously....if that 350 runs, and everything works on her.....you better get high-tailing it over there and get a deal done this minute. It is a steal. If you don't want it, buy it and re-sell it. To me. At a loss. Out of charity.

Good luck.

Make sure the hydraulics work okay. They can be a real pain. Also, does it have the TA? Check to see how well or not, it works. You can always run it direct w/o the TA engaged. I have a 300, and it pulls a 6 ft. shredder no problem. Mine has a 2pt. with 3 pt. conversion. Come to think about it, so does my 400LP. Both are great tractors. Just my 2 cents. Everything being equal, it"s would be a very good deal around here in N. Central Texas.

See if it has IPTO or not. Some do not and IPTO will be better. If not you need an overunning clutch on your bush hog. Power steering would be a plus with the loader mounted.
