Can you hitch a brush hog direcly to the PTO without any special hook-up? Just using a slip-clutch? or do you have to have some connection to the drawbar or use a coversion 3pt hitch? Does any one have pictures of a successful hook-up that they actually have used with good results?

I have a brush hog on my Super A. I made a 3 pt conversion out of parts I had available. Main problem I had was getting the brush hog set back far enough to get enough angle on the PTO. If your asking about using the PTO as a tow point, I think your asking for big problems. Only other choice that was suggested was mounting front wheels on the brush hog and towing with the drawbar. But then you can"t lift the mower. My set up seems to work real smooth. I"ll try to get some pictures and post them.

I've never used it, but my SA came with a home-made draw bar set up. Essentially the draw bar was turned around backwards so the PTO connection would reach. There was also a second bar (home-made part) that anchored the bush hog to the cultivator so it could be raised and lowered. I don't think it would be wise to attach the BH to the PTO and use that as the tow point.
