Howdy all, I have a farmall B with generator, front and rear lights, electric start, and magneto. Can anyone tell me what gauges of wire I need and approximately how many feet of each to rewire excluding the battery cables. Thanks in advance. RAyA

I use 14 AWG stranded for everything. The jacket is flexible rubber - I was able to get (new) scraps from a power plant renovation. As far as length: for each run to the front of the tractor I measure from the base of the seat to the radiator, then add a couple of feet. The extra parts you cut off could be used for jumpers or short runs. I've done this with my H, M, Cub, and BN. Get a jacket that's flexible and oil resistant.

Thanks for the reply. I had a chance to measure mine today and I think mine is 12 and 10 gauge but I figure 14 would work ok. I will be glad to get it under its own power so I dont have to be dependent on pull starts..haha.

You can buy new wiring harness's. They are around $100 or less if I remember right. I think that would be the best thing to do. Let us know if you need info on where to get these. I have no Idea what or how much wire you would need to buy to build one yourself. Dave.

Thanks for the reply. I think the wiring is 12 and 10 gauge. I mainly just want to get it starting and chargeing under its own power right now as I would like to garden with it for fall. Right now I have to rely on pull starts from relatives. I hope to restore it over winter and will probably get a wiring harness for it at that time. Do you know of a good place for the cloth covered harnesses? Thanks again RAyA
