HI good people of YT. Poll #1 I was wondering how many of you would like to have one of the lightbar Tool Boxes for you letter series tractor. I know they fit the H and M but did they have others? Were these aftermarket or IH ? Poll # 2 How much would you be willing to pay for one of these boxes or does anyone know the going rate that people are getting? The reason I ask is I think I saw A large lot of them . But They wanted a large lot of money also. I kinda wanted to know if there was still a market and What you would be willing to pay. THANKS JON

Does that mean you dont care if its aftermarket or original? Just a nice one . These are all new but he wants $40.00 a piece for them by the lot. I am thinking $20.00 or 25.00 a piece . He does not use ebay and will not sell them out from under me so I will work on him a little more. JON

I sold a nice original on ebay that did real well. I prefer the box that bolts to the rear of the transmission cover.

I have two of those.

Paid $10.00 for one, and $15.00 for the other.

Those are a VERY HOT item on Ebay. I had 5 of them @ one time. One in good shape goes for an average of $125. They make a repro for $150. Ive never got less than $100 and you would not have a problem unloading every last one.

Speaking for the H and M's. I find it very inconvienent to get into the toolbox as the steering shaft is in the way. I've got mine hung on L/H frame rail. Works and very handy/functional. I also have seen them with fabricated brackets and hanging off the trans/diff cover above the pto shield. looks good and works well there also. Mike

I would take one or two at $30.00 or $40.00 each.

Hi folks If all ;etter series farmalls were as reliable as mine they would not need toolboxes i have a model H with WFE & LIFTALL serial no FBH193306x3 casting code 23 march 1945 deliverd new to a farm on 21 july 1945 so 60 years ago this tractor could have been coming across the atlantic on a ship

I would love to have a couple of those, problem is that I don't think they are worth any more than about $20 tops. I've seen good original examples sell at auction upwards of $60, and I think the reproduction boxes are going for around $85.

Hi RustyFarmall, Any idea how to tell if they are oem or aftermarket? Was there a IH insignia on them?

I think the originals had an IH sticker on the cover.

Boy, that's a tough question. The few I have seen at farm auctions had the remains of a dealer decal, but I really can't remember seeing any IH logo, don't know.

Hi Jon,

Heck no. That's why IH put that PTO lift lever there; to hang tools on. :>)
