Hi, I am hopeing someone might help me to find out if I have a "Demo Cub" or not.
The Serial number tag is gone,There is white paint all over under the 2 coats of red that I have been scrapeing off.
There are several sets of casting numbers on the clucth tube housing: (3.6.7.) 357686-R1 [.L.] 2
Any info on this would be appreciated Thank you,Donald

Depends on whether he wants to sell it as authentic. If the casting codes are mostly late S or early T, and I owned it, that would be good enough for me if I wanted to keep it. Absolutely sure it was really white, no. No one is going to get rich off of it anyway, IH painted too many of them that way.

I don't know if the engine serial matches the chassis serial or not. Your tractor should have late S (1949) or early T (1950) casting codes, as the white ones were produced in the 1st quarter of 1950. Some or most castings will have a number on them such as 1*8*T - Jan 8 1950, as the date the part was cast. They sometimes sat around for 2 or 3 months, thus yours could have some as early as Sept or Oct of 1949, none should be later than March 1950, though. The 3*6*7 you list could be 3*6*T, which is a good sign. The L means it was built in Louisville, as were all Cubs.
