Farmall H Questions

I recently inherited a Farmall H....I am uncertain about the model year, but early 1940s, probably 1941. How can I find this out?

according to my grandfather's notes on the manual, the serial number is FBH-101923, and the engine number is 101923.

The numbers 8276 DE and 8024 DE also appear on the tractor.

Finally....where is a good place to find out the value of a tractor like this? It is in very good condition but needs new tires...it has been in storage for quite so time so obviously the battery has been removed and all fluids drained.

I also have several accessories...such as a wagon, lights, a highlift (needs new rubber gaskets for the hydraulics) and various other items...plus the original manual.

Where are you located? That can influence price as well. Them midwest boys can find (some) Hs for a song. Not so much here in the Northeast.

It would help if you had the tractor running and knew whether the engine is seized. Then someone could put a $ value on it. Post a picture too.

Your Farmall "H" would be a 1942 model, according to the serial number listing on the left column of this page. Have Fun!!

Thank You....I couldn't find my number listed there though....the listing they have for 1942 says 93237, but my number says 101923.

Anyone know what a fair asking price might be? After some discussion, my family and I think that the front tires won't have to be replaced, and that the back tires might be okay...maybe. Probably will end up needing back tires, but I don't know. Not a farmer or tractor enthusiast myself. Thanks for the info though.

The number 93237 was the starting serial number
for 1942. Yours was built later that year. Hal

The tractor worked fine until it was put in storage, then the fluids were drained, the battery removed, and eventually the whole thing raised up off the ground on blocks. There is some slight leaking of fluid from the rear wheels, but as far as I know if it was gassed up and had a battery put back in it would still run fine.

If you look on the block right below the firing order there will be two series of numbers then a letter. The letter denotes the year. I believe that farmall started the letter series with an I for 39, J-40, K-41, L-42 and so on. I think I am right. If I am wrong will somebody let me know.
