I guess maybe it's just my opinion but I seriously think that brake bands priced at $50 to $60 a piece is a total rip-off. I would understand if that price was for a pair, but not for just one. There are a few other aftermarket reproduction items that I feel are way overpriced also, but those brake bands have got to be the mother-lode of all rip-offs.

Wow! I thought so too but I see they are $50 -60 a piece in parts catalogs. I get $20 each for good used ones. Maybe I better raise my price?

Harley, I think you can beat that price at your local Case-IH dealer, probably not by much, but at least you will have the opportunity to look them over first. I'm not sure you want the bonded brake bands, might be all that is available though.

Harley:

They look a little pricey to me..... what do you need brakes on that M for anyway....just stick out your foot against the sidewall of the tire....:)

Buying the first parts for the 560 today. New post for the starter solenoid and battery cables. Looks like I am going to have to replace the left rear axle seal. We had a bit of a leak around it after pulling it around the shed. I have a funny feeling this old 282 is going to start right up once I can give the glow plugs and starter some voltage.. I did post a pic of her in the tractor photos gallery

Ya I saw the picture and made a comment on it. It looks really good. Just a little cosmetics is all. Looks good and clean. Hope you have good luck with it. Those were good old tractors, Harley
