I looked at an earthmaster with 5 shanks and I thought it would be too much for our IH 5288 with is set to about 175 hp. Has enough power, not enough traction. Bought a 5 shank MDR, DMI 2500 instead. After buying the 3-point DMI, I still had traction concerns, so along came a IH 4166 with a 466 engine set to around 170 hp. This is to be the power unit of choice. I think you would be a lot better off with 4 shanks.

Depending on ground condutions 9 to 11 shanks would be enough Now if it was a DMI then three would be enough with the tiger points.
